His Holiness Lama Achuk Rinpoche who is the Root Lama of Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche once said, “To achieve the attainment of one’s own mind being in union with our Root Lama is what we should pursue throughout our life.” Therefore, we should practice and realize the right mindfulness and awareness we received under the guidance of our Guru. Only through proper realization it is possible to realize the benefits from the teachings, to be liberated and obtain Buddhahood.
We usually follow the Yachen and Achen Monasteries’ Tradition, and as follows, we begin our practice early in the morning; however, each participant may enter retreat at his or her own pace and home flexibly.
The Guru Yoga we practice is the Guru Yoga of Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche: Rain of Blessings, according to the precious teaching of Lama Rinpoche.
The online Eight Precepts Home Retreat continues in October.
This time, the retreat will extend for two days’ time and the participants can register to the degree that one owns’ individual circumstance allow: respectively, 2 days taking Major Precepts retreat or taking the Minor Precepts.
The retreat days we chose this month are very auspicious.
The first day of the retreat is the 30th day of the 8th month in the Tibetan calendar, when karmic effects of positive actions are multiplied 900 million times. The second day of the retreat is the 9th month in Tibetan calendar, the month during which Lord Buddha visited his mother in heaven to pay respects and to teach the Dharma and also marks the Lord Buddha’s actual descent from God Realm of Thirty-three. In Tibetan Buddhism, the 9th month is the one of the most important of the four special months.
Engaging in practice during any of the auspicious Buddhist days of the 9th month is beneficial, so that any positive merit will increase, while similarly, any negative karma created will multiply.
Therefore, how can we protect our three essential doors of Body, Speech and Mind during these very auspicious Buddhist days? How can we develop a more qualitative practice and how can we improve ourselves through listening to Rinpoche’s innermost precious dharma teachings, such as Guru Yoga that Brings Swift Realizations? How can we increase our wisdom and compassion as individuals while also relying on the strength and power generated by the group practice?
In answer to these questions, we may find it greatly beneficial that, while practicing together, we avoid extremes, and we practice vipassana meditation in order to maintain our center.
Dates of the retreat: October 16th – 17th, 2020 (Friday & Saturday)
We will send the detailed retreat schedule via email directly to participants before the 16th of October.

It is considered acceptable if you are not able to join all group practice sessions, however you are instructed to complete 4 individual sessions of Guru Yoga according to Yachen/Achen lineage tradition. Please take notice that the duration of the meditation should not be less than 30 minutes.
During the retreat, we usually practice Dharma Protector Offering and the Tsok Offering, For the practices, everyone can individually prepare the vegan food of one´s choice (for example, the dairy products are welcome but egg is forbidden).
One could chant “Om Mani Padma Hum” or other mantras according to one’s personal practice. We will however not ask you or request you the number of chanted mantras. It is wonderful to follow the tradition of Yachen/Achen lineage which is a unique method of practice.
