Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche

Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche (Tib.རྒྱལ་བའི་མྱུ་གུ, Wyl. rgyal ba’i myu gu) or Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche (Tib. ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་, Wyl. tshul khrims rgya mtsho) (b. 1975) is a realized Dzogchen Nyingmapa master, regarded as the present incarnation of Jigme Gyalwai Nyugu.
Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche’s root Gurus were Khenchen Choying Khyabdel (Khenpo Chokhyab) at Ngedon Dongak Chokhor Ling, His Holiness Khenpo Jigme Puntsok at Larung Gar and the great Dzogchen Buddhist master Khen Lama Rinpoche Achuk (Drupwang Lungtok Gyatso), founder of the great religious center Yachen Orgyen Samten Ling (Yachen Gar). In year 2013 Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche established Achen Monastery and Gyalwai Nyugu Retreat Center at the request of His Holiness Katok Moktsa Rinpoche. Achen Monastery is located in Padma (Cn. Banma), in the Golok region of Amdo (Cn. Qinghai),

Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche was born in 1975 in Padma (Cn. Banma), the Golog region of Amdo (Cn.Qinghai). He was ordained at the age of fourteen and began to study the Buddha Dharma, relying on the inestimable kindness of his root Gurus, Khenpo Chokyab, (1920-1997), Khenpo Jikme Phuntsok (1933-2004) and Lama Achuk Rinpoche (1927-2011). Rinpoche was trained primarily in the stream of the Nyingma Dzogchen Dharma Lineages.

At 21, Rinpoche arrived at Larung Gar to study with His Holiness Khenpo Jigme Puntsok (mkhan po ‘jigs med phun tshogs). During his five years stay at Larung, Rinpoche received a vast number of teachings from all Kadam, Kagyü, Sakya, Gelug and the Nyingma schools, such as The Three Principal Aspects of the Path, teachings of the Omniscient Ju Mipam Gyatso (‘ju mi pham rgya mtsho), teachings of the All-knowing Longchen Rabjam (klong chen rab ‘byams), Kalacakra.
At 26 of age, Rinpoche took to his heart the prophecy of Wisdom Dakini and went to Yarchen Orgyen Samten Ling in the Yachen Khamdo district of Washul Tromtar, to study with Khenpo Lama Achuk, also referred to as Jamyang Lungtok Gyaltsen (‘jam dbyangs lung rtogs rgyal mtshan). Achuk Lama Rinpoche transmitted to him the Heart Essence of Clear Light (‘od gsal snying po) empowerments, Longsal (klong gsal) and Longchen Nyingtik (klong chen snying thig) instructions, as well as the entire corpus of sublime Vajrayana teachings. Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche practiced incessantly all the sublime instructions. Khenpo Achuk Rinpoche held in great esteem Rinpoche’s practice and realization and he became one of the most eminent heart disciples of Achuk Rinpoche. In 2004, Achuk Rinpoche recognized him as a reincarnation of Jigme Gyalwai Nyugu. He said, “Jigme Lingpa was one of the heart disciples of Longchenpa and his lineage holder was Jigme Gyalwai Nyugu. Gyelwai Nyugu (born 1975, also known as Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche) is the reincarnation of Jigme Gyalwai Nyugu (born 1765). I give this authentic prophecy to him who possesses the wisdom of knowing all as it is and as it appears.” Thus, Khenpo Achuk gave him the name Shedrub Tenpay Gyaltsen (bshad-grub bstan-pa’I rgyal mtshan), or Tsultrim Gyaltsen. (Note: Rinpoche goes by both names of Tsultrim Gyaltsen or Tsultrim Gyamtso).

In year 2013 Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche established Achen Monastery and Gyalwai Nyugu Retreat Center at the request of His Holiness Katok Moktsa Rinpoche. (rmog tsha). On the spot, Katok Moktsa Rinpoche (Mozar Rinpoche) blew the conch given by one defender of Dharma and said, “This origin is so marvelous that the cause of the Buddhism promotion of Gyalwai Nyugu will benefit from this and thus benefit all the people.”
